Spring Training Clinic for ages 9-16

MLL Community,

The Board of Directors would like to announce what is sure to be a great event for all those involved. Our league has partnered with Blueprint Baseball to offer a FREE clinic to all PLAYERS and COACHES in the program for ages 9-16 (Minors-Senior Divisions). Each division will have a block of time working on 4 fields in all areas of the game.

Instructors with Major League Baseball/Minor League Baseball/NCAA baseball experience will be conducting the clinic. MLL Coaches will be active participants as well. Players/coaches will learn fundamental and advanced techniques from some great baseball minds! See below for more details and we look forward to seeing you on Saturday March 16th!

Saturday March 16th  StarPlex Fields 1-4

MINORS  10 AM-12 PM (check in/warmups will begin at 9:30 AM) 

MAJORS  12 PM-2 PM (check in/warmups will begin at 11:30 AM)

SENIORS  2 PM-4 PM (check in/warmups will begin at 1:30 PM) 

All participants will be entered to win giveaways and prizes!!! Each player and coach will also receive a free Tshirt from the clinic. Again, we look forward to this new exciting endeavor to help enhance the MLL Baseball experience. See you at the Clinic!!!


Josh Renick- Owner of Blueprint Baseball and MTSU Hall of Famer. 11th round draft pick of the Minnesota Twins and spent eight years in professional baseball. Renick was the 2001 Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year and was a first-team All-Ohio Valley Conference selection in 2000. He helped lead the Blue Raiders to two conference championships and two NCAA Regionals in his two seasons. He is MTSU's career batting average leader with a .381 mark. His .420 average in 2001 was the second-highest ever for a single season. He set school records for runs scored and hits in a single season. The Sarasota, Fla., native was also 72-of-78 in stolen base attempts at Manatee Community College in Florida. The 72 steals are a Florida Junior College record. Josh also played in the Junior College World Series. Josh has been around Major League Baseball his entire life as his Dad was a bench coach for the Minnesota Twins and Pittsburgh Pirates

Jason Sharber- Lead Pitching Instructor for Blueprint Baseball. Recent inductee to the Oakland High School Baseball Hall of Fame. Member of the 1999 and 2000 Oakland High School State Championship Teams. 2000 All State Selection. 2000 Tennessee Gatorade Player of the Year. Signed letter of intent to Vanderbilt University. 5th Round selection out of high school in the 2000 MLB draft. Member of the 2002 Carolina League Champion Lynchburg Hillcats and a 2002 Carolina League All-Star.

Jim McGuire- Former MTSU Head Coach. Served for 20 season as an assistant coach under MTSU Hall of Famer Steve Peterson and was elevated to head coach following Peterson's retirement in 2012. During his tenure, McGuire served as recruiting coordinator for the program and worked with infielders and hitters. Coach McGuire was named the 2015 Conference USA Coach of the Year. He coached numerous All-conference players, All-Americans, and helped many Blue Raiders with reaching the ranks of professional baseball. McGuire also was responsible for organizing camps along various tournaments held at MTSU during his time.

Josh Kroeger- San Diego, California native and new to the Murfreesboro area. 14 years of Professional Baseball Experience. 4th Round draft pick by Arizona Diamondbacks in 2000. Called up to the Major with Diamondbacks in 2004. Also played for the Phillies, Cubs, White Sox, Marlins, Red Sox, and Braves. Played for USA Baseball in the 2009 World Cup and won the Gold Medal/Championship against Cuba. Played 6 season in Venezuela where he earned the nickname "La Pesadilla" (The Nightmare) for his clutch hitting contributions with los Leones del Caracas. 3 time All Star, Batting Champion, MVP, and 2 Time League Champion. Developed a strong reputation for helping and mentoring players in the state of Alabama before moving to Murfreesboro.

Additional instuctors will be onsite as well!  Looking for ways to enhance the MLL experience is always a top priority and we feel this clinic will be very beneficial to both players and coaches alike.
